Midwest Industrial Supply Commemorates Historic Renovations with Campus Makeover Celebration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CANTON, Ohio (Aug. 20, 2024) – Midwest Industrial Supply, the leader in dust control, soil stabilization, lubrication, and anti-icing/deicing programs, marked the completion of renovations to its historic headquarters with a Campus Makeover Celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Through this restoration project, the company has renewed its commitment to maintaining and strengthening economic development within the Canton community.

After noticing several areas in need of repair, the dust control and soil stabilization leader was faced with the decision of extensive remodeling or finding a new space. Having operated on the property for decades, Midwest Industrial Supply chose to restore its Canton-based headquarters.

The history of the building, which resides on the corner of 3rd St. and Madison Ave., stretches back to the 1930s. The property has served many industrial and manufacturing purposes for companies like East Ohio Gas Co., Detroit-Pittsburgh Manufacturing, Inc., a logo which still resides on its exterior, and Diebold Inc.

Midwest Industrial Supply invested $1.62 million in the renovation process, including a $75,000 reimbursement from JobsOhio and a nearly $287,000 reimbursement distributed over seven years through the job retention and growth program from the City of Canton. The company also partnered with Barrington Carpet & Flooring Design, Coon Restoration & Sealants, Inc., D&E Electric, Everhart Glass Co., Koorsen Fire & Security, Joseph A. Jeffries Co., NPI Audio Visual Solutions, R.G. Smith Company, R&S Drywall, and W.M. Commercial Roofing.

Midwest Industrial Supply invited associates, local community partners, and contractors to celebrate the Campus Makeover Celebration with opening remarks from President Steve Vitale followed by tours of the updated space. Attendees also enjoyed a catered lunch from Fromage du Monde.

“Our eco-friendly, innovative dust control solutions and soil stabilization methods are promoting safer, healthier, and more efficient communities around the world,” said Steve Vitale, Midwest Industrial Supply president. “With our global presence, we’re proud to continue our legacy of developing effective solutions here in Canton. This historic renovation process and Campus Makeover Celebration affirms our promise of supporting economic growth within our community.”
