Rail Lubrication

Midwest first started tackling issues pertaining to rail and mass transit in 1975. Since then, we’ve perfected our line of lubrication products that serve to address a variety of industrial and rail lubrication needs. As with all of our solutions, we take a highly personal approach to keeping your rails, switches, and other transportation equipment adequately lubricated and fully operational.

For the many rail networks that must seamlessly operate in harsh climates, Midwest offers a long-lasting synthetic organic switch lubricant that protects switches and the cargo onboard. Midwest’s lubrication products, Glidex and Glidex MC, will prevent delays and accidents and save you time and money without the need for repeated applications.

Longer lasting lubrication than traditional graphite

Midwest’s Glidex family of lubricants ensures long-lasting lubrication on vital rail switches and vertical surfaces, more easily and effectively than possible with other methods. Applied as a fluid, they remain in place and becomes static, providing a barrier that keeps metal components lubricated. They withstand the elements, resists wash-off, won’t pack and harden, and do not attract dirt and sand.

The Glidex product line works effectively in all weather conditions and can be applied even in -40°F weather. What’s more, it’s proven longer-lasting than graphite or petroleum products. And since Glidex isn’t water soluble, even the heaviest downpours or snowstorms are simply no match.

Our industry-leading products are clean and easy to apply and handle. The entire line utilizes our synthetic fluid technology, ensuring that every product is environmentally friendly, biodegradable, non-corrosive, and non-conductive. This means they will not collect dust and dirt, nor will they harden.

Since its founding, Midwest has remained dedicated to serving heavy industry and its customers. We have worked tirelessly to ensure that the transport of coal and other valuable resources doesn’t get held up by track-related maintenance issues. Trust Midwest to keep your trains moving well.
